Municipal Land Transfer Tax - First-time home Purchaser Rebates A rebate of up to $4,475 will apply to first-time purchasers of both new and existing homes. The City's rebates have been extended to both newly constructed and re-sale homes purchased by a first-time purchaser. |

Government of Canada Programs to Support Homebuyer First-Time Home Buyers' (FTHB) Tax CreditThe FTHB Tax Credit offers a $5,000 non-refundable income tax credit amount on a qualifying home acquired after January 27, 2009. For an eligible individual, the credit will provide up to $750 in federal tax relief. Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) The Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) is a program that allows you to withdraw up to $25,000 in a calendar year from your registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs) to buy or build a qualifying home for yourself or for a related person with a disability. GST/HST New Home Rebate You may qualify for a rebate of part of the GST or HST that you paid on the purchase price or cost of building your new house, on the cost of substantially renovating or building a major addition onto your existing house, or on converting a non-residential property into a house. |

For $100 per hour they’ll send 2 uniformed movers and a truck to your home to remove unwanted furnishings and housewares, and they will make sure your furniture goes to a family in need. They will then issue a gift in kind tax receipt for the fair market value of your furniture, which can be used to reduce your tax bill at the end of the financial year. |
